In 2005, the Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University introduced Public Relations major. This department, one of the faculty's scientific departments, aims to improve graduate students' efficiency and awareness in the fields of communication, public relations, and advertising as well as its theoretical and practical approaches to support government media organizations that specifically deal with the public. This is accomplished by improving the graduates of this branch's ability to deal with administrative structures both inside and outside of the institution, as well as their ability to communicate with the media for the purpose of transparently transmitting communication messages that would influence and persuade the general public of the messages' contents. The department also tries to improve the competence of graduates in this specialty by training them to carry out the responsibilities assigned to them and actively contribute to improving the institution's reputation.
